a girl. and a goat.

did i tell you how much i love my hubby's monthly event - nel cielo?
a night of giggling with friends & friends of friends, tasting new chicago finds, & just being me without toddler distractions was absolutely. . . delightful.

this month's destination:  girl and the goat.  (Top Chef's Stephanie Izard's restaurant)
after much anticipation, we finally conquered this restaurant! with 10 friends & a total of 27 dishes to share {yes, you heard me right - 27 dishes!} we filled our bellies with bubblies & lots of scrumptious food.  for some reason though, i was feeling peculiarly self-conscious taking photos & am left with these.

the girl and the goat. i get it. but a little disturbing, no?

pig face. that's all i have to say.
seafood fideo.  this + the seppia, green beans, chickpeas = a few of our favorites.
 4 girls. 6 boys. we ruled the table. :)
can't wait til our next one! but where?

    Sad we couldn't make it. :( Looks like fun! We're finally going too next week with Ray's sister. What are some must have's from the menu?

    It was mostly yummy! If you're not a big fan of gamey meat, stay away from anything lamb! I don't mind gamey meat but I even thought the lamb shank was a bit too gamey. Oh, and was not a big fan of the pigs face, texture was too mushy... The green beans were wonderful and anything seafood! The specialty breads with their fruit and butter pairings were drool worthy! However, the food may have been good, but the company was better! :)

    i agree with sorah! all the seafood ones were yummy minus the stuffed calamari. surprisingly, the vege ones were delish! i think you have to order the pig face... just cuz it's called pig face. ha! but just order one. one bite is enough. :)

    Mmm...we tried this place last September. I must go back to try more dishes (we only had 6)! I can't believe you guys had 27 dishes!

    H and i actually liked this place a lot! we don't mind the gamey and stuff like sweetbread :) we'll have to order the rest of the menu next time...haha.
