my fingers, toes, nose, AND brain are freezing in this chicago winter...
okay, to be honest, my brain has not been working these days due to important and dreadfully scary deadlines at work. and maybe the upcoming holiday is adding stress? do you get overwhelmed during the holidays, too? well, if you are like me and cannot stand the bitter cold, i hope you find a way to stay warm!
my baby will hopefully be nice and cozy in her new Uggs as the weather drops into the single digits.
<< some days i absolutely LOVE the idea of kid Uggs, but when i think of the price, it bites me in the butt. thankfully, a site called plum district gave a great deal at a local shoe store! >>

kaila monday: pretty in pink
pink & gray.
the tried and true combination of colors that bring out the innocence & sweetness in little girls.
love love love.
after my 24-hour shift at the hospital, i spent a lazy sunday with my kaila.

midazzle me!
<< midazolam = a potent anxiolytic & sedative with amnestic properties >>
the drug i give to all ages from wild toddlers to nervous grandpas every single day.
it is truly magical. within minutes, they are calm, relaxed, a little sleepy, & memories of the fear of surgery vanishes... they definitely go to la-la land.
and guess what? i feel midazzled! i finally finished work after 10pm on my late call day which means... i have the day off today! woo-hoo! i am slowly forgetting the horrific week of being on-call every other day - i am definitely drifting off to la-la land.
sadly, i will be working a 24 hour shift on saturday, but i am at peace with it because i got midazzled. why are days off on the weekdays so much better than the weekend?
well, la-la land always consists of my sweet sweet kaila.
although i sometimes wish i had some of that midazolam juice to give her...
here she is, layer by layer.
kaila is dressed in baby Gap from head to toe!
i have become a baby Gap lover.
wishing you a midazolam-filled friday!

the stethoscope
the majority of the hours that i am awake is spent at the hospital wearing the SAME thing - the dreaded blue scrub outfit & the ridiculous shower cap-esque hat that accompanies it.
i decided to do my own silly take on before & after looks.

the drab doctor gear to the more desirable mommy wear.
this week: the stethoscope.

i carry this rather heavy stethoscope around my neck all day, every day listening to the thud thuds of little hearts & the noisy breaths of little lungs.

hair war
our baby girl was not blessed with a full head of hair at birth like her mommy (crazy punk hair that stood 6 inches high), and styling her hair has been an ongoing struggle. kaila is 15 months old now & finally has enough hair for cute pigtails that don't look like antennas! but daddy insists on going for an au natural look which means strangers will be saying, "what a cute boy!" or "he's so handsome." he may settle for a headband from time to time, but half the time the headband is sitting on the ground.
this silly hair war continues to go on and on at our household & now at my hideout in the clouds.
here are the 3 styles:

furry baby
i love baby fashion that has duel purposes, like faux fur vests - warm & fashionable!
i didn't get a chance to see all the cute furry wear at gap or zara before i bought my baby K a furry friend from Janie & Jack (thanks to gift cards from friends!), but i still love this one!
are you a fan of faux fur?

autumn finds
when i have time to surf the net during my downtime at the hospital, i somehow always end up on baby sites.
zara recently debuted a baby line that i absolutely fell in love with...
here's a taste of the collection:
